ARRI sells subsidiary Claypaky to new strategic owner.
Munich, 13 May 2025 - ARRI, the Munich-based film technology specialist, has announced that the company will be expanding its subsidiary Claypakya renowned manufacturer of professional lighting solutions for the entertainment industry, to the new owner EK Inc. sold. With this decision, ARRI is pursuing the goal of focussing more strongly on its core business.
The new owner EK Inc., a leading provider of entertainment lighting, has state-of-the-art development and production capacities. This should provide Claypaky, which has an international reputation for innovation and quality, with new growth opportunities and a stronger global position.
ARRI Managing Director Chris Richter explained that the sale was part of a strategic realignment: "It was important for us to find a partner who recognises Claypaky's potential and works with a clear vision for the future - in the interests of the company and its customers."
Claypaky CEO Marcus Graser expressed his thanks for the cooperation with ARRI and was optimistic: "ARRI's support was valuable, especially in terms of their technical film expertise. We are now looking forward to breaking new ground with EK Inc. and further expanding our innovation potential."
Raymond ChenCEO of EK Inc., described the acquisition as a "strategically important step" to strengthen its own portfolio - particularly in the European market. With Claypaky's almost 50-year history and its innovative strength, EK Inc. sees great potential for joint development.
Claypaky will retain its headquarters in Italy under the new owner. The areas of research, development and production will continue to be strengthened there. The sale is still subject to regulatory approvals and is expected to be finalised in the coming months.
