On 1 July 2025, Torsten Peuker will take over the management of the MDR Leipzig Programme Directorate on an interim basis. He succeeds Jana Brandt, who will once again focus exclusively on her role as Director of the Halle Programme Directorate.

The handover will take place as part of the planned reorganisation within MDR. From 2026, the programme directorates in Halle and Leipzig are to be brought together under joint management. The corresponding management position will be advertised shortly, as announced by MDR Director General Ralf Ludwig.

Peuker was previously Deputy Head of the Leipzig Programme Directorate and has been with MDR since 1991. He has extensive experience in programme and management processes. He will take over the provisional management for a clearly limited period of time.

In addition to her role in Halle, Jana Brandt also took over the management of the Leipzig Programme Directorate on an interim basis for over a year. MDR expressly thanks her for this commitment.
