The Institute of Immersive Media (IIM) and Netflix have launched a joint initiative to specifically qualify women in the film and media industry for the future technology of virtual production. The training programme is aimed at female professionals from the fields of cinematography, VFX, animation and related disciplines in Europe.
Virtual production combines classic film technology with digital innovation and is changing the way films and series are produced. In view of the rapid growth of this technology, there is a growing need for specialised professionals - women have been significantly underrepresented in this segment to date.
With the "Women's Virtual Production Training", Netflix and IIM want to specifically promote talent, expand skills and increase diversity in the industry. In addition to technical expertise, participants also gain access to networks and mentoring.
Interested parties can apply for the training until 3 August.
