Lionsgate has announced a key personnel decision: Erin Westerman is taking on the role of President of the Motion Picture Group with immediate effect. In her new position, she will be responsible for the entire development and production of the studio's cinema films - including physical production, which will also fall under her management in future.

The appointment was made by Adam Fogelson, Chairman of the Motion Picture Group at Lionsgate. In his announcement, Fogelson praised Westerman's significant contribution to the creative and commercial development of the studio: "Erin's impact on Lionsgate has been tremendous. Her flair for storytelling, her talent for casting and her passion for cinema have made her a valued leader."

Westerman is currently involved in several major productions - including "The Long Walk", directed by Francis Lawrence and based on the novel by Stephen King, and "Now You See Me: Now You Don't", the third instalment in the popular magical thriller series. There is also Paul Feig's thriller "The Housemaid", the biopic "Michael" about Michael Jackson directed by Antoine Fuqua and other titles such as "Day Drinker" and the Christian-themed drama "I Can Only Imagine 2".

But that's not all: she is also responsible for the development of upcoming major projects. These include reinterpretations of "American Psycho" and "Blair Witch Project", a film adaptation of the classic game "Monopoly", the anime adaptation "Naruto" and several expansions of the successful John Wick universe - including an animated prequel, an action spin-off and "John Wick: Chapter 5".

Westerman joined Lionsgate in 2017 and has since been involved in such successes as "Knives Out", "Bombshell", the "Hunger Games" sequel and the last two "John Wick" films. Prior to her time at Lionsgate, she held executive positions at Good Universe and produced "The Disaster Artist" and "Always Be My Maybe", among others. She began her career at Walt Disney Studios - with blockbusters such as "Cinderella" and "Into the Woods".

With her extensive experience, creative vision and enthusiasm for cinema, Erin Westerman has everything it takes to lead Lionsgate's cinema business into a successful future.
