Shooting starts for ARD television film "Unser Leben mit Louma" (AT): Patchwork family in a state of emergency.

On 15 July, filming began in Cologne and Hürth for the family drama "Our life with Louma" (working title) has begun. The television film is based on the novel "Louma" by Christian Schnalke, who also wrote the screenplay. The film is directed by Mark Monheim, with cinematography by Markus Schott. The project is being produced by EIKON Media on behalf of WDR for ARD.

At the centre of the story is an extraordinary patchwork family: Lou - played by Marie Nasemann - leaves behind four children from two fathers after a tragic accident. After their deaths, the family threatens to break apart. But the children come up with a plan that sounds absurd at first: the two fathers should move in together.

Tristanplayed by Trystan Pütteris Lou's first husband and father of teenagers Toni (Lola Höller) and Fabi (Noél Gabriel Kipp). As a successful entrepreneur of a coffee house chain, he was heavily focussed on his career during his marriage to Lou - with drastic consequences: Lou's mental breakdown led to their separation. At the clinic, she met the musician Mo (Timur Işık), with whom she had two more children: Fritte (Emily Kaiser) and Nano (Michel Koch).

After Lou's death, the two men become embroiled in an emotionally charged conflict. Tristan now wants to take more care of his children, but Mo, with whom all four children live, resists separating the siblings. When Tristan reconsiders his decision during a business trip and returns, he finds the house empty. Mo has taken the children to the cemetery without further ado - Nano doesn't want to say goodbye to his mother. The situation escalates there: the fathers come to blows in front of the children. But at this very moment, ten-year-old Fritte comes up with an unexpected idea: They all move in together - two fathers, four children, one house.

"Our Life with Louma" promises to be a deeply moving story about loss, responsibility and the power of family cohesion - beyond classic role models. A broadcast date has not yet been set.
