RTL Deutschland and Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) have significantly expanded their existing collaboration in the area of film and series rights. The aim of the agreement is to offer viewers an even broader range of high-quality content both on linear television and on the RTL+ streaming service.

The new partnership includes current cinema highlights, popular US series and WBD's extensive film and series library. The RTL Deutschland family of channels and RTL+ are thus securing exclusive exploitation rights and at the same time strengthening their programme portfolio for the coming years.

"With this expanded volume deal, we can present our viewers with an even more attractive entertainment offering and at the same time further expand RTL+'s presence in the streaming market," commented a spokesperson for RTL Deutschland.

For Warner Bros. Discovery, the co-operation means optimal exploitation of its content on the German market. The agreement emphasises the increasing importance of strategic partnerships between major TV broadcasters and global content providers in order to remain competitive in a fiercely contested media environment.

With this step, RTL Deutschland is consolidating its position as the leading provider of entertainment content in Germany and demonstrating that linear television and streaming services will be even more closely interlinked in future.
