Around 300 producers and creative teams from the film and television industry came together at ZDF's Mainz location for the "Producers' Day". The aim of the event was to intensify the dialogue between broadcasters and the production industry.
In 18 workshops, the participants discussed current topics such as the use of artificial intelligence in media operations, the role of the new ZDF Audience Directorate in the streaming sector and the ZDFspaces platform, which bundles public service discussion formats. Other workshops dealt with fictional and non-fictional content for younger target groups, documentaries, reports and other programme focal points.
ZDF Director General Dr Norbert Himmler emphasised the central importance of cooperation with producers: "Creative teams are indispensable for implementing the public service mandate, even in times of social and global challenges."
The event is part of the transparency agreement between ZDF and the Alliance of German Producers - Film & Television and has been held annually since 2015.
