The Munich-based production and distribution group Beta Film is set to make a key personnel change: Stephan Katzmann will take over the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in April 2026. The current Head of Finance for Licensing & Distribution at the Leonine Group will succeed Maria Kaltenegger, who is returning to her former employer KPMG after six years at the helm of Beta's finances.

Kaltenegger was responsible for Finance & Controlling, HR and IT at Beta Film and played a key role in shaping the further development of the company during this time. According to Beta CEO Jan Mojto, she "made a significant contribution to strengthening the company's position as the leading world sales and production organisation in Germany", particularly during a phase of intensive growth and structural changes.

Mojto expressly recognised her work: the collaboration had been "excellent and based on trust", her expertise and her contribution to the strategic direction of the Group had been of great importance.

With Stephan Katzmann, Beta Film has gained a financial expert with extensive knowledge of the industry. At Leonine, he played a decisive role in the merger of the former Tele-München Group and Universum Film. He has also worked for Sport1 and the Constantin Film Group, where he was Managing Director Finance in both distribution and production.

Beta Film Managing Director Moritz von Kruedener emphasises that Katzmann's many years of experience in the financial structures of production and distribution are an important factor for future strategic development - especially against the backdrop of a market characterised by consolidation, pressure to innovate and fierce competition.

Katzmann himself is looking forward to the new task: the move to the Beta Group is "a great privilege", he says. He is taking on the new challenges "with great pleasure and passion".
