This year's edition of TeleVisionale opened in Weimar on 1 December 2025. The festival, which is dedicated to presenting German-language television films and series, is taking place in the Thuringian city for the first time. The event will bring together filmmakers, industry representatives and audiences until 5 December.
The opening event was characterised by prominent productions: Among others, the television film Bach - A Christmas miracle and the multi-award-winning film No Dogs Allowed. The highlight of the first day of the festival was the premiere of the new Police call 110-Films The hiker moves awayaccompanied by the director and main actors.
TeleVisionale sees itself not only as a presentation platform, but also as a forum for exchange and discussion. In addition to the film screenings, the programme includes public jury discussions, panels and industry events. The festival thus offers insights into current trends in German-language television and series production and promotes dialogue between the audience and filmmakers.
The festival programme covers a broad spectrum: from TV films and series productions to children's and youth formats. Most of the events are free to attend for visitors, while special accreditation options are available for trade visitors.
By moving to Weimar, TeleVisionale is emphasising the importance of regional film culture and at the same time underlining its role as a central industry meeting point for the German-language television and series landscape.
