Hesse Film & Media announced on 16 December 2025 published its annual report for 2024. Accordingly, in the past year A total of 10.15 million euros awarded to 375 film and media projects - a new record in the history of Hessian film funding.

"With this sum, we are supporting creative diversity and sustainably strengthening the film industry in Hesse," the report states. Funding was provided for both Young talent projects as well as established productions in the areas of feature film, documentary, animation and series. Projects that try out innovative formats and new narrative styles are particularly emphasised.

The annual report also provides a detailed overview, which projects were supported in the individual funding programmes. It also shows how Hessen Film & Medien strengthens the regional structures of the film industry, promotes cooperation between producers, broadcasters and streaming providers and secures long-term jobs in the Hessian media industry.

With the crossing of the Ten million euro mark Hessen Film & Medien is sending out a clear signal: Film funding in Hessen remains a key driver of creativity, innovation and economic stability in the region.
