Christian Vesper, Global Head of Drama and Film at Fremantle, is to leave the company. This was announced by the international production and distribution group. Vesper worked for Fremantle for around ten years, during which time he was responsible for the global expansion of the fictional series and film business.

Under his leadership, Fremantle significantly developed its drama portfolio and positioned itself more strongly in the international market for high-quality series and feature films. This included both commercial productions and artistically ambitious projects with a festival presence. Vesper played a central role in establishing new production structures and international partnerships.

Neither Fremantle nor Vesper gave any further details on the reasons for his departure. Responsibility for the drama and film division will initially be assumed by the management on an interim basis. Details of a successor are still pending.

Before joining Fremantle, Christian Vesper worked for broadcasters and production companies such as HBO and Sundance TV and is considered a high-profile manager in the international fiction market.
