The Walt Disney Company has decided, Josh D'Amaro as the new Chief Executive Officer. He will take office on 18 March 2026 at the Annual General Meeting and thereby Bob Iger as head of the media and entertainment group. D'Amaro was previously Chairman of the Disney Experienceswhich includes the theme parks, resorts and cruises, and is regarded as a key driver of the company's recent growth.
At the same time Dana Walden, previously Co-Chairwoman of Disney Entertainment, to the President and Chief Creative Officer a newly created management position in which she will coordinate the creative direction of the Group across all divisions. Walden will also take up her role on 18 March 2026 and will report directly to D'Amaro.
Bob Iger will lead Disney until the end of December 2026 as a Senior Advisor and member of the Executive Board before he officially retires.
This personnel decision concludes a long-awaited succession process at one of the world's largest media and entertainment companies and marks a change at the top of a global industry heavyweight.
