The German Film Academy elected three new members to the ordinary Executive Board at its General Meeting on 15 February 2026: Julia Böhm (mask picture), Franzisca Doll (VFX) and Myrna Wolff (production design). In addition, six people were appointed to the deputy board: Adriana Altaras (Drama), Lorenz Dangel (music), Heike Merker (mask picture), Jan Stoltz (VFX), Tim Tamke (production design) and Jakob Weydemann (production).

In total, the Academy's board is made up of 18 full members and 13 deputy members, representing various areas of film production, including directing, cinematography, editing, music, costume design and acting.

The Executive Committee, consisting of Vicky Krieps and Florian Gallenbergerwelcomed the new members and emphasised the importance of voluntary commitment to the Academy's work. At a time when cultural work and solidarity-based structures are coming under increasing pressure, the German Film Academy is an important driving force for a diverse and resilient film culture.
