The French media group Banijay Group and the investment company RedBird IMI want their production companies Banijay Entertainment and All3Media to merge. The companies announced this in a joint press release at the beginning of March. The new group will operate under the name Banijay trade name.

The previous owners of the merged company will each hold 50 per cent of the shares hold. The current Banijay Entertainment boss has been appointed CEO of the new group. Marco Bassetti planned. The current All3Media CEO Jane Turton is to assume the position of Deputy CEO. The Chairman of the Board of Directors will be Jeff ZuckerCEO of RedBird IMI.

According to the companies, the merger will create an international production group with 170 labels in 25 countries. Together, Banijay Entertainment and All3Media have a programme catalogue of more than 260,000 hours. The two companies' well-known formats include, among others Big Brother, The Traitors and the drama series Peaky Blinders.

According to the company, the two companies would have combined sales of around 4.4 billion euros in 2024 achieved, with a adjusted EBITDA of around 690 million euros. The companies put the expected synergies from the merger at around 50 million euros.

The merger is still subject to the approval of the Authorisation by the competent antitrust authorities. If the merger is approved, it would create one of the world's largest independent producers of TV, film and entertainment formats.
