After several days of negotiations, the US actors' union SAG-AFTRA and the producers' alliance AMPTP have ended their first round of talks on a new basic contract without reaching an agreement. This was announced by both sides in a joint statement.

According to the report, the talks were constructive and lasted longer than originally planned. However, no concrete results were achieved. Negotiations are set to continue in the spring, before the current contract expires at the end of June.

Both parties emphasised their common goal of reaching a fair agreement and thanked the respective negotiating committees for their commitment. No further details on the content of the talks were disclosed. As usual, the parties agreed to keep the status of the talks largely confidential during the ongoing negotiations.
