Hamburg, 19 March 2026 - The ZDF evening series Emergency call Hafenkante (AT) is returning: filming is currently underway in Hamburg and the surrounding area for the 21st season, which will comprise 20 new episodes. The series is being produced by Letterbox Film ProductionThe shoot is scheduled to last until the end of September.

The series follows the team from police station 21 and the emergency department of the Elbe hospital. As usual, the focus is on the combination of criminal cases and medical emergencies as well as the balance between the characters' professional and private lives. Head of the police station Melanie Hansen (Sanna Englund) has to keep her team together both professionally and personally, while the cases repeatedly push the investigators to their limits.

The main cast includes Matthias Schloo, Zejhun Demirov, Rhea Harder-Vennewald, Raúl Richter, Lilli Hollunder, Marc Barthel, Gerit Kling and Hanife Sylejmani. Directed by, among others Stephanie Stoecker, Oren Schmuckler and Daniel Drechsel-Grey.
