The film production and distribution company DCM has fully acquired the Swiss independent distribution company Ascot Elite Entertainment. The transaction was completed on 19 March 2026.
With the change of ownership, Ascot Elite Entertainment, which has been in existence since 1928, is moving into new structures. The previous owners Karin G. Dietrich, Ralph S. Dietrich and Stephan Giger will remain associated with the company and will continue to work as producers and on the Board of Directors.
With this acquisition, DCM is continuing its growth strategy in the German-speaking region and further expanding its position in the areas of film production and distribution. At the same time, Ascot Elite's existing market position and its national and international network will be maintained.
As part of the integration, Stephanie Candinas will take over the management of the company as Delegate of the Board of Directors. Stephan Giger will remain on board as Co-Managing Director for a transitional phase. It is planned to merge the teams of the two companies over the course of the year. In the future, the business will continue to operate under the DCM brand.
The two companies have already worked together regularly in the past. The takeover is seen as a further step in the consolidation of independent film distribution in the German-speaking market.
