There will be personnel changes at the top of WDR Mediagroup in summer 2026. The long-standing Managing Director Michael Loeb will leave the company at his own request on 31 July. His successor has already been appointed: Frank Nielebock will take over the role of Spokesman of the Management Board on 1 August. Tobias Lammert will also join the management team.

Frank Nielebock has been part of the WDR Mediagroup management team since 2017. His contract will be extended by a further five years. With the additional role as spokesperson for the management board, he will take on a coordinating function within the company management in future.

Tobias Lammert is moving from the company to the management board. He was previously responsible for the Marketing and Sales division. His appointment adds another operational perspective to the management team.

Michael Loeb worked for the WDR Mediagroup for a total of around 25 years. He has held the position of Managing Director since 2008. During this time, he particularly shaped the further development of the marketing business. At the same time, he was also Managing Director of ARD Plus GmbH from 2020. After leaving WDR Mediagroup, Loeb will work as Of Counsel for a law firm in the media and technology sector.

The Director General of WDR, representing the shareholder, emphasised that the WDR Mediagroup is well positioned for the future with its new management structure. The combination of continuity and new professional additions should support the successful further development of the company in a dynamically changing media environment. The long-standing work of Michael Loeb, who had significantly shaped the company over many years, was also honoured.

With the reorganisation, the WDR Mediagroup is relying on a combination of experience and internal development, while at the same time providing new impetus in the management.
