The Bundesverband Schauspiel (BFFS), ARD, ARD Degeto Film and the Production Alliance have concluded a revised version of the Joint Remuneration Rules (GVR) for actors. The basis is the „BFFS-ARD Acting GVR“ agreement finally signed on 2 April 2026.

The new regulation extends the scope of follow-up remuneration. In future, these will no longer apply exclusively to 90-minute commissioned productions on linear television, but also to shorter TV formats and series productions.

For use in non-linear forms of evaluation, in particular in media libraries, it has not yet been possible to determine a definitive remuneration model within the framework of the agreement. The regulation provides for further discussions between the contracting parties in this regard.

In addition, the new GVR contains for the first time a provision on revenue sharing for actors in the event of successful commercial exploitation of productions.

The agreement replaces the version of the GVR that has been in force since 2022 and enters into force upon signing.
