Wuppertal entrepreneur Thomas Riedel, founder of Riedel Communications, takes over the Munich-based camera and lighting technology manufacturer ARRI. The long-established company will remain an independent company based in Munich.
According to ARRI, Riedel was able to convince with his concept for a "new home" for the company and prevailed in the international environment. For him, the takeover is the largest acquisition of his entrepreneurial career to date.
The aim of the transaction is to achieve closer strategic integration between ARRI and the Riedel Communications. Both companies want to bundle their expertise along the entire production chain - from camera and lighting technology to infrastructure and playout systems in broadcast, live event and sports productions.
ARRI's existing management will continue and further develop the ongoing transformation process. The Munich location and the independence of the brand will be retained. ARRI sees additional growth opportunities in the new structure and a strengthening of its strategic orientation as a technology provider for the next generation of the media and entertainment industry.
