In Cologne, the new media company Graly GmbH has started operations. The content house positions itself as an interface between traditional TV production, brand communication and the creator economy and aims to develop cross-platform entertainment formats.
Graly is backed by Jörg Grabosch, founder of Brainpool TV, and David Leonard Stade, manager of creator and entertainment formats around Jens Knossalla, two well-known industry figures. Both are involved as strategic investors and advisory board members.
The company sees itself as a „content architect for branded entertainment“ and says it is responding to the increasing fragmentation of the media landscape. While traditional forms of advertising are losing reach, there is a growing need for cross-platform formats that bring brands, producers and creators closer together.
In future, Graly will be responsible for the conception and management of branded entertainment formats, digital extensions of existing IPs and multi-channel management for platforms and rights holders. The aim is not only to produce content, but also to build up brand and IP structures that can be utilised in the long term.
„We see ourselves as a partner to established structures and rely on the expertise of the best producers,“ explains co-founder and Managing Director Dominique Curtis Daly, who previously worked for the Banijay Group. The management team is complemented by Fritz Grabosch (formerly ProSiebenSat.1 Media) and Martin Lohmer, who has already been involved in creator formats such as the „Big Brother Knossi Edition“.
Graly is thus focussing on a closer integration of traditional media production and the digital creator economy - with a focus on brand-financed entertainment IPs and cross-platform playout.
