The international production company Dynamic Television is stepping up its strategy for Germany and has brought on board the renowned producer Jörg Winger appointed Managing Director of the German-speaking business. Winger will take charge of the Berlin branch and is set to drive forward the expansion of activities in the German market.
In his new role, Winger reports to the managing directors of the parent company, Klaus Zimmermann and Daniel March. Dynamic Television is known internationally for series such as Drops of God and Ginny & Georgia is well known and is thus further expanding its European presence.
Winger is one of the most prominent German series producers of recent years. Among other things, he was responsible for the multi-award-winning series Germany 83 was in charge and most recently produced the programme Sam – A Saxon. He also ran the Big Window Productions label within the UFA group.
Right from the start of his tenure, an initial project is already in development: the thriller series „Conspiracy“ (working title), which is being produced for the ZDF is being developed. The co-creator is the actor and writer Marco Girnth. The actress, too, Svenja Jung is involved in the development and could also take the lead should the project go ahead.
With this appointment, Dynamic Television is specifically strengthening its position in the German-speaking market and is banking on a combination of an international distribution structure and locally based creative production. The move is seen as further evidence that international studios are increasingly expanding their activities in Germany and relying more heavily on established local creative talent.
