Sasha Bühler is leaving Netflix after around seven years. She had been working for the streaming service as Content Director for Film DACH since 2019. Netflix confirmed her departure to Deadline.

During her time at Netflix, Bühler was responsible for numerous film projects in German-speaking countries. These included, amongst others, Edward Berger’s *All Quiet on the Western Front*, which won four Oscars in 2023. Productions such as „Brick“ and „Exterritorial“ were also among the Netflix films she oversaw.

Bühler was initially Director of Film, responsible for Germany, Austria and Switzerland, as well as other European markets. In 2021, she took on responsibility for the film programming strategy across the DACH region.

Before joining Netflix, Bühler worked at Constantin Film for eleven years. Other stages in her career included, amongst others, SquareOne Entertainment.

Jan Bennemann is to take over her duties at Netflix on an interim basis for the time being. Overall responsibility for Netflix’s programming in Germany – including series, films, reality shows and acquisitions – remains with Katja Hofem, VP Content DACH.

It is not yet known what career move Bühler is planning following her departure from Netflix.
