Stefan Vochezer is taking over as managing director of the Lübeck Nordic Film Festival. The former manager at Senator Film, Warner Bros. and CinemaxX took up his post on 1 September 2026. This year’s festival will still be overseen by the current managing director, Susanne Kasimir, who is due to retire in 2027.

Following a transitional period, Vochezer will take over the running of the festival alongside artistic director Hanna Reifgerst on 1 May 2027. His future responsibilities will include the organisational, financial and strategic management of the Nordic Film Festival and associated projects.

Vochezer brings around 20 years’ experience in the marketing of feature films and the strategic development of the cinema business. In his previous roles, his responsibilities included marketing and distribution strategies for German and international film productions.

„The Lübeck Nordic Film Festival is one of the most long-established and prestigious film festivals in Europe,“ explained Vochezer. He said he wanted to preserve the festival’s unique identity whilst at the same time providing fresh impetus for its future.

The Hanseatic City of Lübeck announced in May that it was looking for a successor to Kasimir. Vochezer’s early appointment is intended to ensure a smooth handover. The Lübeck Nordic Film Festival is one of the most important festivals for Nordic and Baltic cinema in Germany.
