The FFF Bavaria Film Commission is supporting Lower Franconia in developing the region as a film and filming location. To kick things off, representatives from local authorities, districts, the tourism sector, the police and the Chamber of Industry and Commerce met with the Film Commission to discuss potential film infrastructure, filming permits and local collaboration.
Two workshops with regional decision-makers are planned for the coming months. Among other things, these will aim to explain the requirements of film productions and the procedures involved in obtaining filming permits, as well as to raise awareness amongst those involved of the needs of film shoots.
The aim is to establish Lower Franconia as an active and sustainable film location in the medium to long term. With towns such as Würzburg, Aschaffenburg and Miltenberg, as well as numerous historic and scenic locations, the region already offers a wide range of filming locations. Productions such as *The Three Musketeers*, *Lommbock*, *Sisi & Ich*, *Das Sams* and the Franconian episodes of *Tatort* have already been filmed in Lower Franconia.
The Film Commission points out that, thanks to its support, regions such as the Eastern Allgäu, Lower Bavaria and North-East Upper Franconia have already established themselves as film locations.
