Sarah Kirkegaard is leaving her permanent position at Moovie GmbH at the turn of the year 2026/27. The long-serving producer and former co-managing director of the Berlin-based Constantin Film subsidiary intends to establish herself as a freelance creative producer in future.

Kirkegaard joined Moovie in 2007 as a dramaturg and producer, and worked there as a producer from 2015 onwards. From 2018 to 2024, she was also a member of the management team. Over the course of almost 20 years, she helped shape the company’s development and was responsible for projects such as the miniseries „Das Adlon“ and „Eldorado KaDeWe“, the film adaptation of Siegfried Lenz’s „Schweigeminute“, and the feature film „In Zeiten des abnehmenden Lichts“.

The collaboration with Constantin Film is set to continue even after she leaves. Joint projects are planned, which Kirkegaard will develop and oversee as a producer. In addition, she intends to carry out her own productions with other partners.

Oliver Berben, CEO of Constantin Film, paid tribute to Kirkegaard’s long-standing contribution to the development of Moovie and welcomed the planned continued collaboration. Kirkegaard himself highlighted the joint work with the team and the opportunity to explore new creative avenues in the future.
