Netflix's Berlinale party: "We are experiencing stormy times"
Berlin. The streaming provider is represented at the 2024 Berlinale with two titles and continues to enjoy international success. This was the celebration.
Instead of "Netflix & Chill", it was "Netflix & Chill" on Sunday afternoon at the Hotel Telegraphenamt "Netflix Cocktails & Canapes". The ballroom was bathed in orange light, with the capital "N" emblazoned across everything. The US streaming service has gained 13 million new customers by making it more difficult to share passwords. Netflix series win awards and are very well received internationally.
The company impressively demonstrates its successful course at its Berlinale Party 2024: trailers for new productions and its biggest successes are shown non-stop on large screens on the walls: "Leave the World Behind", "Unorthodox", "Stranger Things" and "Nothing New in the West". Two Netflix productions will be shown at the Berlinale: "Spaceman" with Adam Sandler and "Supersex" about the porn star Rocco Siffredi. Both are screening in the "Berlinale Special" section for extraordinary productions.
Stars on Netflix: Veronica Ferres, Aylin Tezel, Tom Schilling
Whilst Aylin Tezel with "her best friend", the actor and director Jerry Hoffmann came, moved Tom Schilling ("A Million Minutes") alone and in a smart suit and dark red tie. Aylin Tezel says she used a 30-minute break today for a power nap and is therefore well rested. Her last premiere party "The Outrun" with Saoirse Ronan have kept them relatively short.
"We are currently experiencing a turbulent time in this industry," Hofem announces. Nevertheless, the manager emphasises that the company will continue to invest in the DACH region. 20 local productions are planned.
