According to Press Release Berlinale Director Tricia Tuttle has appointed four members to the newly composed selection committee, which will organise the film selection for the Competition and Berlinale Special as well as the Perspectives section, which focuses on new talents. Together with Tricia Tuttle and her Co-Directors of Film Programming as well as the experienced Section heads from Panorama, Generation, Berlinale Shorts, Forum and Forum Expanded they want to put together a dynamic and diverse programme that presents contemporary cinema as a dazzling art form.

The members of the selection committee are

Mathilde Henrot is a programmer and producer and founder of Festival Scope. She was a member of the selection committee at the Locarno Film Festival from 2018 to 2024 and has been a programmer at the Sarajevo Film Festival since 2012.

Jessica Kiang is a Berlin-based film critic, essayist and programmer who has been writing about film for almost 15 years. She has been International Programmer at the Belfast Film Festival since 2022.

Jacqueline Nsiah is a film festival, art and culture consultant and lives in Accra, Ghana. She has worked in the film industry for many years, worked as a project manager for the Goethe-Institut and was appointed to the selection committee of the Berlinale in 2023.

Elad Samorzik is a programmer, film industry consultant and former journalist. He has more than a decade of experience as Artistic Director of the Jerusalem Film Festival (2014 to 2024).

The selection committee, chaired by the two Co-Directors of Film Programming, Jacqueline Lyanga and Michael Stütz, and led by Tricia Tuttle, will select the films competing for the Golden and Silver Bears, as well as programme the Berlinale Special. The section heads will also be involved. They will all also be involved in selecting the films for the new competitive Perspectives section, where the prize for Best Feature Film Debut will be awarded, as well as determining the nominees for the Berlinale Documentary Award.

Tricia Tuttle and her Co-Directors of Film Programming have also appointed a group of advisors and delegates for the 75th Berlinale from 13 - 23.02.2025, who will support the programme design and expand the Berlinale's expertise and international networks.
