Alfred Holighaus will become the new Managing Director of the Kuratorium junger deutscher Film (KjdF) on 1 April 2025. He has previously held various positions at the Board of Trustees since 2006, most recently as Deputy Director and on the Board of Directors for the Talent Film division. Holighaus will take over the management until the end of 2025 as an interim solution, as the process for a permanent replacement has not yet been finalised due to delays in the reform of talent promotion.
He succeeds Julie Kania and Mariana Schneider, who have led the Board of Trustees in recent years. Kania has been on her second parental leave since the beginning of 2025, while Schneider will leave the foundation at her own request on 31 March 2025.
Holighaus expressed his delight at the opportunity to continue supporting talent promotion and to continue his passion for talent film. Prof Andreas Schreitmüller, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, praised Kania and Schneider's work to date and expressed his gratitude.
