After 30 years at the traditional media location of Potsdam-Babelsberg, UFA is moving its headquarters back to the capital Berlin in 2026. This move is part of a comprehensive strategic and cultural reorientation that CEO Sascha Schwingel and COO Natalie Clausen are actively driving forward.
From the first half of 2026, around 130 employees will be working in the new, sustainable offices on Schöneberger Ufer. For UFA, the move not only means a change of location, but also the start of a modern working world that emphasises innovation, agility and collaboration. At the same time, the company remains true to its values of openness, diversity, tolerance and change.
Natalie Clausen explains: "Berlin is the right place for us to be close to the creative pulse of society - to talents, partners and consumers. After many successful years in Potsdam-Babelsberg, we are relaunching in the capital with fresh energy."
As a cultural media centre with a lively mix of politics, art, music and media, Berlin offers ideal conditions for the future of the UFA. Subculture and high culture, creatives and entrepreneurs meet here, which promotes the creative potential enormously.
Despite the move, UFA will retain close ties to the Potsdam and Brandenburg region: The production and post-production of the successful daily "Gute Zeiten, schlechte Zeiten" will remain at Studio Babelsberg. The well-known external set, Kolle-Kiez, will also remain firmly anchored in Potsdam-Babelsberg.
The move back to Berlin marks a significant departure for UFA - with a view to the future, without losing sight of the established structures in Brandenburg.
