RTL Germany

The media company with headquarters in Cologne, a second office in Hamburg and a capital city studio in Berlin was founded in 2007 as an umbrella organisation for the German companies and channels of RTL Group. RTL Deutschland is part of the Bertelsmann Group's Content Alliance and collaborates with Bertelsmann companies and numerous other partners.

The company operates 15 television channels and produces a wide range of TV formats, some of which it has developed itself, such as series, soaps and feature films, non-fictional programmes and shows as well as reports and documentaries. RTL Deutschland is also responsible for the distribution of digital offerings and the marketing of its services and products.

Although the company's focus is on traditional television formats, online platforms have increasingly come to the fore and have been further expanded. RTL Group owns the free TV channels RTL Television and VOX as well as the news channel ntv, among others. Pay TV channels in the areas of crime, living and nature as well as the streaming service RTL+ have been successively added. A new division was founded at the beginning of 2023: Since then, RTL Ventures Fonds has been investing in potentially high-growth consumer tech start-ups from the European region.
