Detective Chief Inspector Martina Seiffert (Astrid M. Fünderich) leads the often nerve-wracking missions with a steady hand. She deploys her inspectors according to their abilities: The smart detective chief inspector Jo Stoll (Peter Ketnath) has a robust sense of justice, while computer genius and autistic Rico Sander (Benjamin Strecker) has a special approach to the world. Inspector Lea Gomez (Jasmin Gassmann) successfully contributes to solving the cases with a likeable mixture of chaos and keen powers of observation. The investigators are supported by the Francophile forensic scientist Jan Arnaud (Mike Zaka Sommerfeldt) and the charming forensic scientist Dr. Benedikt Förster (Florian Wünsche). Director of Criminal Investigation Michael Kaiser (Karl Kranzkowski) always has an overview, a good connection to the public prosecutor's office and, if necessary, contacts in the higher circles of the state capital. The cheerful patrolwoman Bille (Bärbel Stolz, known as "Prenzl-Schwäbin") also helps with the investigations and, of course, audience favorite Schrotti (Michael Gaedt) and his car repair shop are once again part of the action. The hunt for criminals leads the Stuttgart SOKO team into the most diverse milieus and to the most bizarre crime scenes in and around Stuttgart.
