Change of management at VGF: Stephanie Struppler takes over from Anja Braune

Munich, 8 April 2025 - VGF Verwertungsgesellschaft für Nutzungsrechte an Filmwerken is about to undergo a significant change in management: On 1 April 2025, Stephanie Struppler took over as Managing Director, succeeding Anja Braune, who is leaving the company at her own request.

Anja Braune successfully managed VGF for five years and made a significant contribution to the strategic and operational reorganisation of the company. Under her leadership, important projects were initiated and implemented, particularly in the area of IT modernisation. "My time at VGF was intensive and accompanied by many positive developments. I am delighted to be handing over responsibility to experienced hands," said Braune on her departure.

Stephanie Struppler, an experienced lawyer and industry expert, is taking the helm. She has extensive expertise in copyright and media law, particularly in the areas of television and film production. Most recently, she was Vice President Legal & Regulatory at Warner Bros. Discovery for the DACH and Benelux regions. Further stations in her career were Corint Media GmbH, Sport1, Plazamedia GmbH and Constantin Medien AG.

"I am passionate about copyright law and the challenges of licensing law in the creative sector," explains Struppler. "I look forward to continuing the successful development of the VGF together with the team and actively shaping the challenges of the film industry."

The Supervisory Board of VGF is also confident. "We would like to thank Anja Braune for her great commitment over the past few years. With Stephanie Struppler, we are gaining a strong leader who will future-proof collective rights management in a changing media landscape," says Supervisory Board Chairman Antonio Exacoustos.

The VGF is one of the central collecting societies in Germany and plays an important role in the protection and management of copyrights in the film sector.
