Production Alliance confirms Management Board and focuses on statutory investment obligation and AI regulation.

At its 17th Annual Members' Meeting on 10 October 2025, the Production Alliance elected the entire board of the German production industry as scheduled and confirmed some of its members. At the same time, the association reiterated its call for a statutory investment obligation including rights retention.

Guests at the meeting included ZDF director Dr Norbert Himmler and Jolinde Sawahn, deputy director and head of funding at the German Federal Film Board (FFA).

The executive board of the Production Alliance, including CEO and overall board spokesperson Michelle Müntefering as well as the section chairs of the Animation, Documentary, Entertainment, Television, Cinema and Advertising sections, were confirmed in their positions. Hannes Jakobsen (DRIVE beta GmbH) was newly elected to the Board of Directors. In addition, representatives from particularly large sections, including documentary, entertainment, television and cinema, continue to be members of the Board.

An amendment to the Articles of Association was also approved at the meeting: In future, the full Executive Board will be able to co-opt up to five members on the recommendation of the Executive Board. The co-opted members for the current term of office will be selected at the first meeting of the new Executive Board at the beginning of December.

The Production Alliance also bid farewell to departing board members Uli Aselmann, Prof. Dr h.c. Bernd Neumann and Corinna Mehner, who have been committed to the association for many years.

Another resolution concerned the establishment of an AI advisory board. This is to monitor and analyse the legal and political aspects of artificial intelligence for the industry and prepare statements. The advisory board is made up of representatives from all sections.

Michelle Müntefering emphasised the political message of the members' meeting: "The Production Alliance relies on binding legal rules to secure Germany as a production location. With an investment commitment and fair retention of rights, we want to maintain the basis for a stable film industry. The new AI Advisory Board supports us in actively monitoring the social and regulatory dimension of AI."
