The German Federal Film Board (FFA) has opened the 2026 reference funding programme. Applications for production, distribution and short films must until 1 March 2026 about the FFA service portal can be submitted. Prior registration is required, as activation can take several days.

New subsidies at a glance

Second and third participations

Films that have already been funded in 2025 can be funded via a Secondary application resubmitted if at least 10,000 reference points must be proven. Older participations (2024 or earlier) may require a Re-registration or direct contact with the responsible funding officer.
