After an intensive festival week, the prizes in the two competitions of the 43RD FILMSCHOOLFEST MUNICH - Festival of Future Storytellers. 60 diverse short films and exciting labs and talks attracted more than 4,000 visitors to the cinemas at HFF Munich and the Hack The Future Lab. The festival concluded with short film programmes and the best-of festival.

"Our new concept works. The two competitions complement each other wonderfully and represent the spectrum of young filmmaking. Our talks and labs have complemented the film programme in a variety of ways, inspiring our guests with new impulses and positive perspectives for the future. We are already looking forward to the Festival of Future Storytellers 2025 and want to inspire all film schools to send larger student delegations to Munich," summarised Christoph Gröner, Festival Director and Julia Weigl, Artistic Co-Director in the Press Release together.

The First prize in the international competition was awarded by the jury (Sophya Kallista Frohberg, David Kwok and Thanasis Neofotistos) to PASSARINHO from Natalia García Agraz. The prize is endowed with 10,000 euros and is sponsored by Adobe. An honourable mention went to DE GALLO QUI OVAVIT from Nina Forsman. 

The Arri Award for Best Documentary Film was organised across the competition THE END OF HOLIDAY from Raphaël Venayre and Antoine Guerci will be awarded. Arri awards the prize with a voucher worth 4,000 euros, which is valid for services provided by the ARRI Rental Group or for ARRI equipment.

The Award for Best Animation this year - also across all competitions - goes to FISH RIVER ANTHOLOGY from Veera Lamminpää. The prize is sponsored by the Young Talent Foundation Berlin and is endowed with 3,000 euros.
