Following a meeting of the Supervisory Board of Kulturveranstaltungen des Bundes in Berlin GmbH (KBB), it was announced that Tricia Tuttle continues to manage the Berlinale takes over. The Supervisory Board welcomed her willingness to continue managing the festival and adopted recommendations to strengthen the event in the long term.

Minister of State for Culture Wolfram Weimerwho heads the Supervisory Board, honoured Tuttle's commitment: "In recent months, Tricia Tuttle has set the course and shown the Berlinale the way out of a prolonged crisis. I would like to thank her for her willingness to continue on this path."

The Supervisory Board formulated recommendations to ensure the social acceptance and economic stability of the festival. These include the establishment of an advisory forum, the development of a KBB-wide code of conduct and measures to involve the film industry, media companies and potential investors. The committee also reaffirmed its commitment to combating anti-Semitism and promoting Jewish perspectives.

After the meeting, Tuttle stated that she welcomed the Supervisory Board's decision and would examine the recommendations carefully. The Berlinale also made it clear that it was Recommendationsnot binding guidelines. The responsibility for their examination and possible implementation lies with the festival management.

Sven Lehmann, Chairman of the Bundestag's Culture Committee, described Tuttle's retention as an "important signal for artistic freedom" and emphasised the need to preserve the festival's independence.

The Supervisory Board's decision ends the speculation of the past few days about a possible replacement for the director.
